1 Hospitalized After Collision Between Durham-Pentz Road and SR-149
Butte County, CA (February 4, 2023) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 99 on February 3, Friday.
Semi Truck vs. Car Accident on Highway 99 in Butte County
The Action News Now reported a collision between a car and a semi truck that took place between Durham-Pentz Road and Highway 149. Additional details on the description of the automobiles involved in the wreck have not been revealed thus far.
According to the initial investigation report, one of the drivers fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the crash. The force from the impact caused the car to roll over multiple times before coming to a rest. Meanwhile, the truck sustained only minimal damage and the operator apparently drove away.
Rescue teams arrived at the site shortly after 2:30 a.m. and immediately attended to the driver of the car. Responding paramedics rushed the injured motorist to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Oroville CHP helped Chico CHP in clearing the crash. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the accident that happened on Highway 99 in Butte County.
