1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Buttonwillow Crash on 5 Freeway Near Twisselman
BUTTONWILLOW (September 16, 2019) – One was killed and another was injured after a traffic collision along the 5 Freeway Saturday.
According to an article published by Kern Golden Empire, the fatal accident involving trucks took place on September 14 just after 7:30 p.m.
Officers said a Ford truck was traveling north on the 5 Freeway, just south of Twisselman Road, when for an unknown reason it collided with a tractor-trailer.

The Ford then rolled-over upon impact. The vehicle spun out of control and was hit by another big rig which was also headed northbound on the freeway.
Officials affirmed that the Ford ended up on its roof as a result of the crash. Paramedics responded to the site and pronounced the driver of the overturned vehicle, a Tracy woman, dead at the scene.
Her juvenile passenger suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, the operators of the two tractor-trailers were unharmed in the wreck. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
