4 Injured in Byron Crash at Vasco Road and Walnut Boulevard
BYRON, CA (July 1, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash at Vasco Road and Walnut Boulevard in Byron.
According to an article published by The Press, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:30 p.m.
The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Byron. They crashed at the intersection of Vasco Road and Walnut Boulevard.
4 Children Victims in Car Collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found a total of five people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. They described the patients as four children and one adult.
A helicopter airlifted one child while a ground ambulance rushed two others to the Oakland’s Children’s Hospital. Medical personnel took another juvenile and the adult to the Antioch’s Kaiser Hospital.
Officials did not release the names and condition of the wounded victims and the extent of the injuries they sustained in the incident.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Vasco and Walnut to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Byron crash is still under investigation.
