5 Injured in Byron Crash on Vasco Road Near Camino Diablo
BYRON, CA (January 28, 2022) – Several were injured after a car crash on Vasco Road near Camino Diablo in Byron.
According to The Press and CBS San Francisco, the accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck as a head-on collision at about 6:35 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said six vehicles collided for an unknown reason on Vasco Road in Byron. One of the cars involved then caught fire, just south of Camino Diablo.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and rescued two trapped occupants from the wreckage. A total of five people ended up hurt as a result of the incident.
A helicopter took one patient to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Medical personnel rushed the others to hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Vasco Road to shut down in both directions for about two hours following the wreck. The cause of the Byron crash is still under investigation.
