BYRON, California (May 3, 2016) — A woman allegedly drove through a red traffic light that may have been defective Tuesday morning and crashed into another driver in a major injury crash on Byron Highway 4 at Marsh Creek Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 9:38 a.m. this morning and was blocking the intersection. The CHP report stated the woman driving a white Mercedes was “driving recklessly” and ran a red traffic light prior to the crash with a blue Acura sedan. The report later stated the lights may have been defective.
Paramedics were sent to the scene to help those who were injured in the Contra County crash.
Police will continue to investigate the crash and determine liability.
