Motorcyclist Badly Hurt in Byron Car Accident
BYRON, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2019) — A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Tuesday morning in a collision with a vehicle at Vasco Road and Camino Diablo just south of Brentwood.
The collision was reported at 4:59 a.m. to the California Highway Patrol. The driver of a Nissan or Toyota sedan reportedly made a U-turn in front of an oncoming Harley Davidson motorcycle causing the bike to T-bone the driver’s side of the sedan at the intersection. The vehicles were on the southbound side of the roadway at the time of the crash.
A helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the injured motorcycle rider to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed serious injuries. Police issued a SigAlert for the crash and closed down Vasco Road temporarily between Camino Diablo and Walnut Boulevard to land the helicopter.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash and an investigation into the crash is underway by police.
