Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Crash on Pomona Freeway
HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (February 6, 2025) — Byung Chul Kim, 65, died in a three-vehicle truck accident Tuesday morning on the Pomona (60) Freeway, just west of the Hacienda Heights off-ramp in Los Angeles County.
The Hacienda Heights truck accident occurred on eastbound Pomona Freeway at around 11:08 AM on February 4, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two white semi-trucks and an unknown vehicle were involved in the crash on the Pomona 60 Freeway.
Due to the fatal collision, all traffic lanes were blocked, except for the HOV lane. CHP reported people were walking in the freeway lanes. It is unknown if these people were passengers involved in the crash or people attempting to help with the crash. The man became trapped in his vehicle and died following the collision.
Firefighters and paramedics responded and located those with injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the fatal crash in Hacienda Heights on the Pomona 60 Freeway.
