Woman, 45, Killed in Cahuenga Pass DUI Crash on 101 Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 5, 2021) – A woman was killed after a DUI crash on the 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass.
According to the KTLA News and NBC Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:40 a.m.
The incident began when three cars collided for an unknown reason on the southbound 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass. One of the drivers involved, a 45-year-old woman, then exited her vehicle in the No. 3 lane.
The California Highway Patrol said a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe approached and struck the woman on the freeway, north of the Pilgrimage Bridge.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the woman lying on the ground. She sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the male driver of the Chevrolet was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victim. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
Officials forced a stretch of the southbound 101 Freeway through the Cahuenga Pass to shut down for more than two hours following the wreck. The fatal DUI crash is still under investigation.
