CAJON JUNCTION, California (December 12, 2014) – A multivehicle collision involving compact cars and a semi-tractor trailer truck was reported Friday morning on the northbound Interstate Route 15 Freeway at the US Highway 138 in San Bernardino County, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported about 4:55 a.m. when a white compact car allegedly hit a big rig truck and then swerved around and struck the center divider of the freeway. The truck driver allegedly continued driving away from the scene of the crash. Police described the truck as a King Farm Trucking semi-tractor trailer with Idaho plates.
A witness told police someone was seen crawling out of the white vehicle following the crash. A gray 2008 Toyota Corolla 4-door sedan was also involved in the collision and possibly a third compact car. Paramedics responded to the scene and a SigAlert was issued at 5:20 a.m. for roughly two hours.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash and will issue a report with their findings.
