CAJON PASS, California (March 2, 2015) — The driver of a semi-tractor trailer truck allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel, crashed into the center divider and overturned onto its side on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Cleghorn Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
The big rig truck crash involved the driver of a charcoal grey Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. The crash caused concrete debris to block the slow lane and a fuel leak caused a Hazmat situation.
Paramedics responded, but it’s unclear if there were injuries or not. Also, the driver of a grey 2003 GMC Yukon ran over debris and became disabled. The northbound side of the freeway was temporarily shut down for cleanup from the fuel spill.
“Hopefully no one was hurt in this collision,” said Attorney James Johnson.
