4 Injured in Cajon Pass Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway Near Kenwood

CAJON PASS, CA (January 12, 2022) – Several were injured after a car crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Kenwood Boulevard in Cajon Pass.

According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 12:15 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol said a dark-colored Subaru SUV slammed into the back of a semi-truck at 85 mph. The two crashed on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway near Kenwood Boulevard.

The car became engulfed in flames due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

Car Hits Semi-Truck

They found a total of four people riding the SUV hurt as a result of the collision.  One of them sustained critical injuries ended up rushed to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Medical personnel took two other patients to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The fourth occupant declined transportation.

The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig did not sustain any wound following the wreck.

Officers forced the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway to shut down near Kenwood after the incident. The Cajon Pass crash is still under investigation.
