Motorcyclist Killed in Palm Springs Car Accident is Identified
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (May 1, 2024) — Caleb Goodrich was identified as the 31-year-old motorcycle rider who died Sunday in a car accident on Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th, according to the Palm Springs Police Department and Channel 3 News.
The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Gene Autry Trail when a driver in another vehicle heading southbound turned left in front of the bike towards East Via Escuela.
The Auburn man, identified as Caleb Goodrich, sustained major injuries and died at the crash scene.
Meanwhile, the 64-year-old Rancho Mirage resident driving the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, but preliminary results indicate that drugs and or alcohol were not involved.
