Caleb Marquez Motorcycle Crash Myers Flat Highway 101

Caleb Marquez Badly Injured in Myers Flat Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (June 14, 2022) – A fatal motorcycle and car crash left Caleb Marquez badly injured on Highway 101 near Myers Flat.

The California Highway Patrol identified the Portland, Oregon man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened when Caleb Marquez was riding a blue BWM 1200 south on Highway 101 with four other motorcyclists near Myers Flat. At the same time, a silver Toyota 4Runner was going north.

For an unknown reason, the SUV crossed over the center median and into the southbound lanes. In the process, the car went directly into the path of the motorcycles.

2 Killed in Wreck

The Toyota then slammed into Caleb Marquez and the female rider of a red Triumph Tiger. Both victims ended up ejected from their bikes due to the impact of the collision.

The Times Standard and KRCRTV News wrote that the accident occurred on June 13 at about 4:45 p.m. Caleb Marquez sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.

Paramedics rushed the patient to the St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka for treatment. The other motorcyclist and the male driver of the SUV died following the wreck.

The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.  The cause of the fatal Myers Flat crash is still under investigation.
