Major Injury Collision on SR-98 Tuesday
Calexico, CA (April 6, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident on State Route 98 Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Car and Truck Accident in Calexico, April 6
Initial records indicated a white sedan collided with a big rig on SR-98 at Dogwood Road in Calexico. CHP logged the incident around 7:50 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found a female party trapped and unconscious in the sedan. Responding firefighters worked extensively to free the victim. After a successful extrication, medical personnel checked the condition of the woman.
The CHP dispatch mentioned a helicopter later landed at the accident scene. The air ambulance possibly transported the patient to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the truck operator appeared unharmed in the crash.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise circumstances that led to the car and truck accident in Calexico.
