1 Seriously Injured in Calexico Crash at Highway 98 and Barbara Worth Road
CALEXICO, CA (March 20, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash at Highway 98 and Barbara Worth Road in Calexico.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 8:42 p.m.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Tulare. They crashed on westbound Highway 98 at the intersection with Barbara Worth Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a dark colored pickup truck and a white SUV. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then extricated three trapped occupants from the wreckage.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. An air ambulance soon took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced westbound Highway 98 at Barbara to shut down after the wreck.
The cause of the Calexico crash is still under investigation.
