Motorcyclist Injured in Car Accident at Calexico Intersection
CALEXICO, Calif. (August 7, 2023) — A car versus motorcycle accident happened Monday morning at Dogwood Road and West Cole Road in Calexico.
The collision occurred about 6:55 a.m. on August 7th, at the Calexico intersection according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A driver in a Honda Accord was traveling on West Cole Road when they allegedly pulled out into the path of a motorcycle rider. The rider crashed into the left side of the car in the northbound lane of Dogwood Road.
Someone called 911 to report the crash to the CHP. Next, the Inland County Sheriff’s Department requested paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash. The rider suffered undisclosed injuries, but it’s unknown if anyone in the car was also hurt.
Meanwhile, authorities closed down Dogwood Road at Highway 98 due to the investigation and cleanup. Also, two tow trucks removed both of the damaged vehicles from the roadway. The car had left-side damage where the bike crashed into it.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
