Pedestrian Injured in Calexico Crash Near Highway 111 and Jasper Road
CALEXICO, CA (September 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a crash near Highway 111 and Jasper Road in Calexico.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the incident occurred on Sunday evening. Officers reported the accident at about 7:15 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Calexico. The driver hit the person on southbound Highway 111 near East Jasper Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene just north of Cole Boulevard. They found the victim who complained of pain to their back as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced southbound Highway 111 to close near Jasper following the crash.
The cause of the Calexico pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
