State Controller Betty Yee and 2 Others Injured in Posey Tube Accident
ALAMEDA (July 13, 2018) – The California State Controller and two other people were injured after an alleged DUI crash in the Posey Tube Friday afternoon, according to East Bay Times.
State Controller Betty T. Yee, her husband and their driver, a California Highway Patrol officer with the Dignitary Protection Section, were taken to the hospital with injuries considered as non-life-threatening injuries.
Aaron Ba Sean George, 25, Arrested For DUI Marijuana
As per the article, police said the victims were stopped in the left lane when they were rear-ended by a Nissan sedan driven by 25-year-old Aaron Ba Sean George. The accident occurred at about 3:25 p.m. in eastbound lanes near Marina Village Parkway.
The impact of the collision forced the state vehicle into a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Camry was unharmed in the wreck.
Meanwhile, George was hospitalized with major injuries. He was suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana and is expected to be booked into jail once he is medically cleared.
