Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Calipatria on Highway 111
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (August 15, 2022) — A fatal Calipatria pedestrian accident happened on Highway 111 and East Yocum Road on Monday morning in Imperial County.
The collision occurred on the southbound SR-111 about 9:02 a.m. on August 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver allegedly struck the victim at high speed on State Route 111, the report said.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision or who had the right-of-way.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help those involved in the crash.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the collision, the report said. The CHP did not provide the person’s name, age and gender.
Furthermore, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Calipatria pedestrian accident.
