SAN BRUNO, Calif. (March 11, 2022) — Thirteen people were hurt when a Caltrain commuter train crashed into a construction truck in Northern California.

The fiery crash happened about 10:30 a.m. in the San Francisco’s Bay Area, according to ABC 23 News. The Caltrain carrying roughly 75 people reportedly struck a truck with a crane that was working on the transit system’s electrification project.

Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries following the train wreck.

Paramedics responded to the scene and treated 11 passengers who suffered a range of injuries. Also injured in the crash was the train engineer and a crane driver. The driver of the crane suffered serious burn injuries in the collision. However, authorities say all those injured will survive.

Firefighters also responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze.

Liability for the Caltrain crash in San Bruno remains under investigation.
