PALO ALTO, Calif., (September 15, 2026) — A major injury traffic collision involving a Caltrans vehicle and a motorcycle occurred Sunday afternoon on Big Basin Way in Palo Alto, just south of Highway 35.
The incident was reported on Sept. 13th at approximately 2:40 p.m., when emergency services were notified of a motorcycle down on CA State Route 9. The crash happened on a winding stretch of the roadway and was partially blocking a lane. Initial reports indicated that the collision involved a Caltrans Ford F-150 pickup truck and a motorcycle, which resulted in significant injuries.
Victim and Response
The motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly sustained major injuries.
