Caltrans Worker Killed in Sacramento Hit-and-Run on Highway 99 at Martin Luther
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 26, 2021) – A Caltrans worker was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 in South Sacramento.
According to an article published by the CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident occurred on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:51 p.m.
The incident began when the Caltrans worker was putting up construction detour signs on northbound Highway 99 in South Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle veered onto the shoulder for an unknown reason and struck the subcontractor. The driver hit the person at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard exit.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the victim beneath a trailer. The Caltrans worker died as a result of the Sacramento crash.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
They described the car involved as 2015-2018 Ford F-150 truck. The truck obtained damage on its right-hand side after hitting the subcontractor.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down for a time following the collision. The fatal Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
