SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (July 22, 2024) – A driver in a tow truck struck and killed a Caltrans worker who was picking up trash along the Interstate 5 Freeway in San Clemente.
Three others suffered minor injuries in the traffic accident that occurred at 9:35 a.m. on the northbound side of the I-5 freeway, just north of Avenue Palizado, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The tow truck driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mission Hospital, the report said.
The second Caltrans worker had minor injuries and the driver in the Nissan suffered minor injuries.
Investigators are working on the case.
