Man, 27, Injured in Camarillo Accident at Fifth Street and Pleasant Valley
CAMARILLO (January 8, 2019) – One was killed and another was injured after a traffic collision in the area of Fifth Street and Pleasant Valley Road Monday morning, according to The Ventura County Star.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported at 6:20 a.m., just south of the Camarillo Airport.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a man was driving a Nissan pickup west along East 5th Street when for an unknown reason he lost control of his truck.
The Nissan then crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided head-on with a Ford pickup near the intersection with East Pleasant Valley Road.

East Fifth Street is also known as Highway 34.
CHP affirmed that the motorist in the Ford, a 27-year-old Oxnard man, was taken to St John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. His name and condition at this time were not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the Nissan died at the scene. Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as 65-year-old Manuel Alcala Garcia, of Oxnard.
