1 Seriously Injured in Camarillo Crash on Northbound Highway 101
CAMARILLO, CA (July 4, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 101 in Camarillo.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 12:05 a.m.
According to their dispatch team, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Camarillo. They crashed on the northbound side of Highway 101, just north of Carmen Drive.
2 Vehicles Collide Near Carmen Drive
One of the cars involved, a 2-door sedan, rolled onto its side and ended up in the center divider. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and rescued children out of the wreckage.
They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Camarillo crash.
