1 Killed, 3 Injured in Camarillo Crash at Mission Oaks Boulevard and Adolfo Road
CAMARILLO, CA (April 16, 2021) – A crash at Mission Oaks Boulevard and Adolfo Road in Camarillo killed one person and injured several others.
According to the Ventura County Star and KVTA News, the tragic accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 8:07 a.m.
The incident began when a minivan was going west on Mission Oaks Boulevard, approaching Adolfo Road in Camarillo. At the same time, a utility truck was traveling south on Adolfo.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said for an unknown reason the two vehicles collided at the intersection. They crashed near the Camarillo High School.
Minivan vs Box Truck Collision Near High School
Deputies found the van with visible damage to its front and passenger side on a sidewalk. The box truck sustained heavy front-end damage as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the 77-year-old Camarillo woman riding as a passenger in the minivan dead at the scene.
The 85-year-old Camarillo man driving the van suffered serious injuries upon impact. The 27-year-old Oxnard man operating the truck and his passenger sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Medical personnel then took them to local hospitals and listed them in stable condition. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Officials soon forced the lanes around the intersection to close for hours after the crash. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
