CAMARILLO: Major Injury Crash on Pleasant Valley Road (State Route 34)
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (August 18, 2026) — A multi-vehicle collision Tuesday on State Route 34, also known as Pleasant Valley Road, in Camarillo resulted in injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Aug. 18th at approximately 5:54 a.m. on SR-34 near East 5th Street. Initial reports indicated that three vehicles were involved, with dispatch later describing the crash as a serious collision with confirmed injuries.
The vehicles involved were reported as a gray Lexus sedan, a black Nissan sedan and a silver SUV. Responding personnel found vehicles on the right shoulder and debris remaining in the traffic lanes.
Serious Injury 3-Vehicle Accident Reported
The collision created a significant response and a long-term road closure. Ventura County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene, and multiple tow companies were requested.
At approximately 6:11 a.m., CHP reported that one vehicle had become stuck on top of a guardrail and required a heavy-duty tow truck to remove it. Additional tow resources were requested for the other vehicles.
CHP also reported that the collision required the roadway closed at Pleasant Valley Road and Las Posas Road while crews worked at the scene.
The incident was initially classified as a traffic collision involving unknown injuries before being upgraded to a major-injury collision at approximately 8:23 a.m.
By approximately 7:46 a.m., the roadway was reported open, although the crash investigation and cleanup response continued.
Authorities have not released information about the number or identities of those injured, nor have officials provided details about what caused the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing. Drivers traveling through the area are urged to use caution and allow additional time when approaching the crash location.
