Cameron Martinez, 31, Killed in Goleta Crash on Highway 101 Near Winchester Canyon
GOLETA, CA (August 26, 2021) – Cameron Martinez was killed after a car crash on Highway 101 near Winchester Canyon Road in Goleta.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 31-year-old Solvang man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Wednesday.
The incident began when Cameron Martinez was driving a sedan north on Highway 101 near the Winchester Canyon Road exit in Goleta. He was traveling in the right-hand lane at the time.
2 Vehicles Collide
For an unknown reason, he collided with another vehicle. His car then veered onto the right shoulder, and rested between the two lanes of Highway 101.
Cameron Martinez died at the Goleta scene. Noozhawk News and Lompoc Record wrote that the accident occurred on August 25 at around 2:10 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid and soon fled the area. Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for hours following the wreck.
