Candido Rivera Arrested After Police Chase Ends in Car Crash at Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard
Gardena, CA (April 16, 2021) – Candido Rivera was convicted of murder in relation with a deadly car accident that occurred on January 9, 2018, in South Los Angeles.
According to My News LA, Candido Rivera was behind the wheel of a silver Honda CR-V. For reasons still unclear, the driver accelerated toward a patrol vehicle and intentionally hit the door.
Shortly after, a high-speed chase ensued. Our sources indicated the pursuit came to an end after Candido Rivera lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a utility pole at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard.
First responders reportedly found the vehicle engulfed in flames.
Woman Killed in Los Angeles Fiery Car Crash, January 9
Per news article published online, a female passenger in the Honda sadly died as a result of the crash. Paramedics confirmed the woman died of blunt force trauma from the collision; and it did not appear that the ensuing fire contributed to her death.
Following an investigation, police arrested Candido Rivera. Authorities recently convicted the man of murder, fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle causing death, assault on a peace officer and hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage.
Now 32-year-old, Candido Rivera, serving a potential life prison term.
