1 Injured, DUI Driver Arrested Canyon Country Accident
CANYON COUNTRY, Los Angeles County (July 21, 2017) – One person was injured in a DUI collision at Soledad Canyon and Camp Plenty roads early Friday morning.
According to an article by Signal SCV, a black Dodge Charger crashed into a red Pontiac at the intersection about 5:33 a.m. The impact forced the Pontiac to hit a traffic signal at the corner of the road, officials said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department determined one person was rescued from the scene. The injured party was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in an unknown condition. At this time, the identity of the patient is still undisclosed.
Meanwhile, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested the male driver of the Dodge on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run. The suspect was also charged for violating the “Zero Tolerance Law”, which states that it is illegal for drivers under the age of 21 to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.01 percent or higher.
Road authorities advocate that most traffic accidents are preventable so long as drivers practice and comply with the road regulations. In this particular case, it is evident that the Dodge Charger’s driver at the time of the crash violated the California Vehicle Code 23153 VC—briefly defined as driving under the influence causing injury.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the victim has the rights to pursue a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver. Car accident victims are entitled to seek for compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost future income, and pain and suffering.
