Deputy Injured in Collision at Penlon and Soledad Canyon
Canyon Country, CA (August 26, 2022) – A Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputy suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Penlon Way and Soledad Canyon Road.
According to the Santa Clarita Valley News, the officer responded to a pursuit near the intersection in Canyon Country. Near the end of the chase, the suspect turned onto Penlon Way and tried to enter a gated community. Our sources indicated the gate of the community was closed, forcing the suspect to turn back. While exiting the area, the blue two-door compact car crashed into the patrol vehicle.
The collision took place at approximately 5:50 p.m.
When medical personnel arrived at the scene, they rendered aid to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputy. Earlier reports mentioned the officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance rushed the patient to a local hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the police car crash happened at Penlon Way and Soledad Canyon Road.
