Capistrano Beach Car Accident Interstate 5 Freeway, Avenida De Estrella

Mazda and Tesla Crash on I-5 in South County

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2024) — A two-vehicle car accident happened Monday morning in the Capistrano Beach area on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway between Avenida De Estrella and Avenida Vaquero.

The collision occurred at around 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a gray Mazda MZ6 and a red Tesla were involved and both pulled to the right shoulder.

Paramedics responded to help anyone hurt, but there are no further details at this time.

Traffic investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 5 Freeway in Capistrano Beach.
