2-Vehicle Crash on I-405 Freeway in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2021) — One person was hospitalized after a car accident on the Interstate 405 Freeway at Red Hill Avenue in Costa Mesa near John Wayne Airport.
The collision happened about 1:05 p.m. on Nov. 22nd between two motorists, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the vehicles blocked the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway. A blue Ford Expedition was involved in the collision with another motorist. Paramedics with the Orange County Fire Authority responded and transported at least one person from the vehicle to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach for undisclosed injuries. There were five people in the two vehicles, but it’s unknown how many suffered injuries.
One of the vehicles involved had been pursued earlier by the Long Beach Police Department, the report said.
Police are storing the vehicle for evidence.
