9 Children Injured in Car Crash at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road

October 3, 2018 – Several children were injured after their vehicle crashed into a tree in the area of Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road, according to ABC News.
The accident happened on Wednesday at about 3:42 p.m.

As per the article, the driver of the involved white van claimed the brakes of their vehicle failed when she approached the intersection. The woman allegedly aimed to stop, and veered their van towards a tree.
First responders found the vehicle smashed into a tree, flipped on its side, and surrounded by shattered glass and a rack of surfboards lying on the ground.
Medical records indicated paramedics provided medical aid at the scene to four children. Another five juveniles were transported to hospitals for further examination, and treatment.
The names of the nine children injured in the crash remained unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van appeared to be unharmed in the wreck.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly what happened here and why.

California Highway Patrol will carry out a forensic examination of the vehicle involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators draw up a firm conclusion for what happened.
