4-Vehicle Crash on Highway 33 Near Lost Hills
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (April 7, 2022) — A 4-vehicle car accident on Highway 33 near Blackwells Coroner happened Thursday morning in Kern County.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred about 6:14 a.m. on April 7th, just west of Lost Hills area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a white SUV, a black sedan, a Lexus sedan and a fourth vehicle collided due to unknown circumstances.
One person became trapped in the wreckage and at least four people were injured. Off-duty paramedics were at the scene and performed heavy extrication on one person trapped in a vehicle. They reported there were four or five patients suffering from undisclosed injuries.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported them by ambulance to a hospital.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed all three vehicles from the highway.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
