Boy, 16, Hospitalized After Crash on Hunte Parkway
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (May 30, 2024) — A 16-year-old boy was severely injured Wednesday morning in a solo-vehicle car accident on Hunte Parkway near Lower Otay Lake in Chula Vista.
The teenager was riding in a westbound Ford pickup truck whose driver swerved off the roadway in the Otay Ranch community. The pickup truck hit a tree and fire hydrant when it crashed in the 1800 block of Hunte Parkway, the Times of San Diego reports.
Also, it happened at around 7:30 a.m. on May 29th in San Diego County, according to the Times of San Diego.
The Chula Vista Police Department and paramedics responded to help those involved. Upon their arrival, the driver who is also a minor, had pulled out the unconscious passenger from the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the 16-year-old boy was transported to a hospital where he is being treated for severe injuries.
Finally, it’s unknown at this time what caused the car accident on Hunte Parkway, but police did not suspect drugs and or alcohol were factors. The case remains under investigation.
