At Least 2 Injured in 55 Freeway Car Crash

October 2, 2018 – Injuries were reported following a traffic collision on the Interstate 55 Freeway Tuesday morning.

According to a local news source, vehicles slowed down on the part of the highway near 17th Street because of a fatal pedestrian accident.
Shortly after that incident, around 5:40 a.m., multiple vehicles collided for unknown reasons near the initial accident scene.
Medical records indicated paramedics rushed at least two unidentified parties to a hospital. Both victims reportedly received treatment for minor injuries.
At this time, no other details were immediately released. Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led to the multi-vehicle crash.
