Car Accident on Country Club Drive, Washington Street in Palm Desert
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (June 12, 2026) — An overturned pickup truck and another vehicle snarled traffic Friday morning after an accident in the Palm Desert area at Country Club Drive and Washington Street, according to emergency CHP dispatch reports.
The crash was reported on June 12th shortly after 8:12 a.m. in the westbound lanes just east of Washington Street. Authorities said a white Ford F-150 pickup truck overturned during the collision, which involved a Toyota Corolla sedan.
Early reports indicated at least one person may have been trapped inside a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and an ambulance was reported on location minutes after the crash was reported. It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or whether additional vehicles were involved.
Due to the severity of the collision, westbound lanes were shut down as emergency crews worked to recover the overturned vehicle and clear the roadway. Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies diverted traffic off Yucca Lane while crews managed the scene.
Tow trucks were called to remove both damaged vehicles, and officials later announced that the No. 2 westbound lanes would remain closed during recovery efforts.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and no additional details about those involved were immediately available.
Drivers in the area were urged to expect delays and seek alternate routes while the roadway was cleared.
