At Least 1 Hospitalized After Collision on Interstate 80 Freeway Wednesday
Placer County, CA (October 6, 2021) – One person suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle veered off the roadway while traveling east on the freeway. The collision took place in the unincorporated community of Emigrant Gap in Placer County.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 1:55 p.m. First responders found the vehicle with significant damage after slamming into a tree off the roadway.

The CHP log mentioned at least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. Paramedics transported the patient to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Additional details have not been revealed thus far. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the car accident on Interstate 80 happened.
