Bicyclist Injured in Car Accident at Indio Intersection

INDIO, Calif. (January 12, 2026) — A person riding a bicycle was injured Monday morning in Indio in a car accident at Avenue 42 and Country Club Drive in the Coachella Valley, authorities said.

The collision was reported at approximately 9:58 a.m. at Country Club Drive and Avenue 42, just west of the intersection. Initial reports indicated a vehicle collided with a bicyclist, prompting an emergency medical response.

The incident was transferred from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office to the Indio Police Department, with Cal Fire also notified to assist. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to evaluate injuries and provide medical care.

According to incident logs, one of the vehicles involved is owned by California State Parole, though it was not immediately clear whether the vehicle was being used in an official capacity at the time of the crash.

The extent of the bicyclist’s injuries has not been released. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
