Multi-Vehicle Placentia Collision on the 57 Freeway
PLACENTIA, Calif. (June 22, 2021) — A car crash on the 57 Freeway happened Tuesday afternoon at Orangethorpe Avenue.
The Orange County crash happened about 2:09 p.m. on June 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police report the drivers involved included a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a Volkswagen, a white Subaru and a Nissan Xterra. One of the vehicles wound up facing the wrong way. The MetroNet Fire Authority responded to help the injured, but there were no further details provided in the CHP report. About 2:38 p.m., police issued a SigAlert due to the crash blocking traffic on the 57 Freeway.
Paramedics transported one person to Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton for a left eye injury. Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the damaged Nissan Xterra from the scene.
Investigators seek to determine fault for the collision. It’s unknown if drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the 57 Freeway car crash.
Police urge witnesses to contact them.
