1 Killed, 3 Injured in Mission Hills Car Accident
MISSION HILLS, Calif. (August 9, 2023) — A 56-year-old woman is dead and two were injured when a white SUV crashed into the Hamer Toyota dealership on Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills.
The collision occurred about 10:45 a.m. on August 9th inside the Toyota dealership at 11041 Sepulveda Boulevard, according to a report by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A customer struck two employees and one patron as it crashed its way through the car dealership, just south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard, the report said. The motorist was at the indoor driveway when they accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, the Los Angeles Times reported.
A woman identified as Yadira Calito became briefly trapped underneath the vehicle, but some employees and an off duty nurse managed to pull her out. Witnesses to the collision reportedly performed CPR on the woman, but she later died at a hospital from her injuries. TMZ reported the woman worked as a nanny for musician David Foster and his wife, singer Katharine McPhee Foster.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the Sepulveda Boulevard crash. They transported two male employees to a hospital including a 35-year-old man with a foot and head wound and a 23-year-old man with an arm laceration.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine what led to the collision.
