2 Injured in Collision on SR-118
Somis, CA (June 4, 2023) – A traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 118 resulted in injuries, according to KVTA News.
Earlier reports indicated a 2004 Saturn van and a 2002 Saturn collided on the highway just east of Walnut Road in Somis. Preliminary investigation revealed the 60-year-old man behind the wheel of the Saturn attempted to pass another vehicle. Officials said the driver of the Saturn veered into the opposite lane, and ended up crashing into an eastbound Saturn driven by a 31-year-old Oxnard resident.

Shortly after 8:47 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver of the van suffering in minor injuries. An ambulance transported the patient to Saint John’s. Meanwhile, the other driver reportedly sustained major injuries and was taken to Los Robles.
The California Highway Patrol mentioned alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the collision.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the traffic crash happened on Highway 118 in Somis.
