Passenger Hospitalized After Collision Near 8 Freeway
San Diego, CA (February 25, 2023) – At least one person suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway, the 911 Video News reported.
2-Car Accident on Interstate 5 in San Diego
On February 25, Saturday, two vehicles collided in the northbound side of I-5. Our sources mentioned a Nissan hydro-planed and spun out on I-5 just south of Interstate 8 Freeway. Officials said the driver of the Nissan managed to veer to the right-hand shoulder of the freeway, and slowly came to a stop.
According to the article published online, a northbound Tesla driving behind the Nissan also hydro-planed in the same area. The woman driving the Tesla lost control of her car and ended up crashing into the Nissan.
Emergency crews rushed to the accident scene and arrived shortly after 8:09 a.m. First responders found at least one car rolled down the embankment. Medical personnel said they checked the conditions of all the occupants in both cars, and determined the female passenger in the Nissan sustained injuries as a result of the collision. An ambulance transported the injured woman to the hospital for further treatment. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
At this time, detectives continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the crash that happened on Interstate 5 in San Diego.
