2 Injured in Car Crash into Taco Surf Restaurant; Driver Arrested DUI
SURFSIDE, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2022) — A suspected DUI car crash into the Taco Surf restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Surfside left two people injured.
Also, police arrested the driver, Ted Lorenzo Ramirez, 22, of Norwalk, on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury.
The solo-vehicle collision happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6th. A driver of a 2005 Subaru Impreza was traveling northbound on PCH with two passengers. Ted Ramirez allegedly lost control and crashed into a palm tree and then rolled into the building, according to the Seal Beach Police Department.
Two male passengers in the vehicle were injured in the crash. Paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital.
One of the men was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. However, the second passenger suffered major head trauma. A few days after the crash he remained in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Ted Ramirez posted a bond and was released the same day at 11:30 p.m.
