Girl, 10, Injured After Car Crashed Into Modesto Home at Sharon and Prescott
MODESTO, CA (February 25, 2023) – A child was airlifted after a car crashed into a home at Sharon Way and Prescott Road in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on February 25 at around 1:30 p.m.
The incident happened when an elderly driver suffered a medical issue and crashed her car into the garage of a home in Modesto. The house is located at Sharon Way and Prescott Road.
The vehicle then went through the garage door and into the walls of a bedroom. In the process, a 10-year-old girl sitting at the vanity of the room ended up struck.
Elderly Driver Suffers Medical Issue, Hits House
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim bleeding from her forehead beneath a pile of debris as a result of the collision.
A helicopter flew her to the Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for treatment of unknown injuries. The report did not disclose the condition of the patient at this time.
Meanwhile, family members of the girl said the elderly woman driving the car lived across the street. Officials did not mention if the motorist sustained wounds upon impact.
Officers forced the area of Sharon and Prescott near the home to shut down following the wreck. The Modesto car crash is still under investigation.
