3 Pedestrians Injured in Crash Near La Cienega Boulevard
Carthay, CA (June 7, 2023) – Three people suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on West Pico Boulevard June 7, Wednesday late afternoon.
Car Jumps Curb, Crashes Into Bank on West Pico Boulevard
The KTLA5 News reported a dark-colored sedan veered off the traffic lanes while traveling in the Carthay neighborhood of Los Angeles. In the area near the 6161 block of West Pico Boulevard, the car drove onto the sidewalk and struck several pedestrians. Officials said the vehicle came to a rest after plowing into a Chase Bank building near La Cienega Boulevard.
Shortly after 5:28 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found three pedestrians suffering in injuries. According to the article published online, a 48-year-old female and a 51-year-old male both sustained major trauma in the crash. Paramedics transported the two adults to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Authorities added a third victim, a 19-year-old male, sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Medical personnel also rendered aid to the driver of the sedan that hit the pedestrians. The driver reportedly declined to go to the hospital.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the major accident that happened on West Pico Boulevard in Carthay.
