2 Injured After DUI Driver Crashes Into House Along Duncan Road

January 8, 2019 – Injuries were reported after a vehicle plowed into a home along Duncan Road Sunday evening, according to the Daily Press.
Preliminary investigation revealed 34-year-old Joseph Arthur Acosta was driving a 2003 Infiniti sedan heading west on Duncan. Then, Duncan reportedly made an unsafe left turn at Baldy Mesa Road and ended up crashing into a house in the 9600 block of Duncan Road.
Emergency teams arrived at the accident scene shortly after 9:30 p.m. and found two parties inside the Infiniti. As per the article, the passenger sustained major injuries as a result of the crash and was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment. At this time, the identity of the victim and their condition have not been disclosed thus far.

Meanwhile, officials said Acosta was also briefly hospitalized before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing great bodily injury. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center just before midnight.
Authorities mentioned no one in the home was hurt in the incident.
