At Least 1 Trapped After Collision on Mare Island Bridge Friday
Sonoma County, CA (November 5, 2021) – A traffic accident that occurred on Highway 37 near Sears Point resulted in injuries, according to the Press Democrat.

Earlier reports indicated a big rig, and several other vehicles collided in the eastbound side of the highway in Sonoma County. Officials said the incident took place on the Mare Island Bridge, just east of Highway 121.
Shortly after 1:20 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the location. First responders attended to all possible victims in the crash. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person had to be extricated fro the wreckage. Additional details on the trapped person remained undisclosed.
Responding officers shut down the highway to give way to the investigation process. The California Highway Patrol group later announced the reopening of the bridge at about 5 p.m.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue work at this time to determine exactly how and why the traffic accident on Highway 37 in Sears Point happened.
