One Injured in Crash on I-5 Freeway in Cardiff
CARDIFF, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2022) — A Cardiff crash involving a pickup truck and a car happened Friday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway at Manchester Avenue in Encinitas.
The collision occurred about 6:23 a.m. on Dec. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck and a blue Jaguar sedan collided due to unknown circumstances. The pickup pulled to the right shoulder, but the Jaguar was sideways partially blocking the No. 3 lane after the collision. A driver who called 911 told dispatches he almost hit the Jaguar as it was sticking out in the slow lane.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and help one person with injuries. They transported the person to Scripps in La Jolla for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Cardiff crash.
